JAGUAR XJ220

Coupe - (1992)

We are extremely pleased to offer for sale this rare and very collectable 1992 Jaguar XJ220. The XJ220's concept came to life due to an after hours project of Jaguar engineers and designers, sometimes referred to as 'The Saturday Club', who aimed to close the gap between the current road cars of that era and what was being raced. The result was phenomenal and blew the minds of car enthusiasts all over the globe on it's release in 1991, where it achieved the record-breaking status as the fastest production car in the world and achieved a top speed of 217 mph when being driven by Martin Brundle at the Nardo test track in Italy. Perhaps even more impressively, the Jaguar XJ220 set the Nürburgring lap record in 1992 when John Nielsen recorded a 7:46 lap, a record that held until the turn of the millennium.

The example we are offering today is just one of sixty nine right hand drive examples ever produced. Moreover, it is believed that there were only four right hand drive cars produced by Jaguar in this rare colour combination of Monza red with Biscuit leather interior. This stunning example has had just two former registered keepers and has covered a mere 1,973 miles from new.

This car is certainly “one of a kind” and boasts originality. The car has been kept truly original and includes its original complete tool kit, original book packs/ handbooks, unopened first aid kit and both sets of keys. The car is still on the original tyres that it left the factory on and they also show no wear, once again pointing to how little this car has been driven during it's lifetime. However, it should be comforting for any buyer to also know that the sale will also include four brand new Bridgestone tyres. Furthermore, this example has been maintained by Jaguar XJ220 specialist Don Law who also carried out the much sought after brake upgrade and rear boot conversion. This example would hold it's own in any car collection, and with factors such as so few cars ever being produced combined with it's iconic looks and record- breaking status, one would expect it to also have great investment potential.
